These Terms govern your use of NEWSROOM (the “Service”), a news aggregation and fact‑checking platform covering Somalia, the Horn of Africa, East Africa and international affairs, available at newsroom.com.so. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

NEWSROOM publishes original short summaries of news reports and links out to the original sources, alongside editorial fact‑check assessments. We do not reproduce full third‑party articles; we summarise and link to the publisher.

2. Intellectual property

Original summaries, fact‑check assessments, ratings, designs, logos and the NEWSROOM name are owned by us or our licensors. Linked articles and their content remain the property of their respective publishers. You may share links to our pages; you may not republish our original editorial content without written permission.

3. Fact‑check assessments

Our “Verified” and “Contested” ratings and source‑reliability grades are editorial assessments and statements of opinion based on a published methodology. They are not allegations of fact about any individual. If you are the subject of an assessment and believe it is inaccurate, you may exercise a right of reply by contacting us; we will review good‑faith submissions and correct or annotate where warranted.

4. User submissions

When you submit a story tip, correction or other content, you grant NEWSROOM a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free licence to use, reproduce and publish it in connection with the Service. You confirm you have the right to share what you submit and that it is not unlawful, defamatory or infringing. We may moderate, edit or decline any submission.

5. Accounts

If you sign in, you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate others.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by scraping at scale, attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems, submitting spam, or using the Service for any unlawful purpose.
