The Security Council will hold an open briefing on Ukraine at 3 p.m.

The meeting was requested by Ukraine requested in a 15 June letter and supported by Council members Denmark, France, Greece, Latvia, and the United Kingdom.

Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific in the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations Mohamed Khaled Khiari and Director of the Crisis Response Division at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Edem Wosornu are expected to brief.

Ukraine and several countries from the region are expected to participate as well under rule 37 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.
